Take a journey through the West Australian wheat belt region to Wave Rock, truly one of Australia's most incredible natural monuments.

Visit the historic township of York and view other significant geological formations of the area.

  • Head out through the Darling Ranges to the first township of Avon Valley, a historic part of York.
  • Visit the Dog Cemetery, a tribute to Australian working sheep dogs before arriving at Hyden, home of the Wave Rock.
  • See Hippo's Yawn, an unusual natural rock formation shaped like a hippopotamus.
  • Stop at Wave Rock Wildflower Shop for a picnic or lobster lunch.
  • After lunch, take a walk around Wave Rock before discovering special aboriginal sites like Gnamma Holes (water reservoirs) and learn Aboriginal culture.
  • Visit a wildlife park or alternatively view the Antique Lace Collection.
  • See the Humps and Mulka's Cave, and hear the story of outcast Aboriginal "Mulka the Terrible".
  • Wildflower stops made en route (Sept - Nov)
